More Asymetric Warfare: Anonymous and Untraceable Phone Calls

I'm not suggesting that anyone do something as serious as phoning in a bomb threat, or even annoying ex-spouses, lovers, or that sexual predator that lives down the street.

If any of you had the opportunity to see the below video from ABC News, I'm sure you were left wondering, just how did the guy do this ..... free.

Well, it is deceptively easy and can be relatively anonymous if you use a disposable cell phone, or public phone that can accept incoming calls, plus a publicly accessible computer or open WiFi hot spot.

The site allows you to call up to 25 numbers at one time in the USA and Canada, FREE. You can use this service as many times as you like without incurring a charge.

Test it out for yourself, by sending yourself a message.

Another free site to try is http://wakerupper.com/

Some others require you to create an account. Be sure not to be untruthful now...

My absolute favorite is CallerBot. Unfortunately it seems to be down at the moment.

What is really nice about this service is that it uses text to speech technology. You type in what you want it to say on the web page and turn it loose. The bonus is that it allows you to spoof the caller ID and the originating number.

Might be fun to scare the crap out of your favorite neighborhood drug dealer with the local DEA office's number and name showing up on his caller ID.

They even allow you to choose different female and male voices, including some with accents. Unfortunately, they don't have one with an Arabic accent.

With CallerBot, all you need is a WiFi hot spot or a publicly accessible computer....and away you go.
